Bladder Cancer, Childhood

Common Name(s)

Bladder Cancer, Childhood

Bladder cancer, Childhood is a common form of cancer developed during childhood characterized by abnormal cell growth in the organ that collects urine produced by the kidneys before urination (bladder). Individuals with this disorder may grow harmful tumors in the bladder that can spread to the rest of the body if not diagnosed and treated early. Bladder cancer can thus cause individuals to have problems with urination and getting rid of harmful substances from the body. Common symptoms faced by individuals include an increased urge to urinate or bloody urination. Treatment is developed on a case-by-case basis and depends on the specific needs of the patient. If an individual's cancer has progressed, doctors may suggest surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy to combat cancer symptoms.
